Ask an Author Week #10: Nancy Haddock

Question: What is the "coolest" or most interesting thing that has happened to you since becoming a published author?

Nancy Haddock: One of the coolest things was to hear that reading my book turned someone's day around. I find delights in every day, and it's both a high and humbling to know that reading my work can brighten a reader's mood.

Cesca Marinelli is on an afterlife high until a budding stand-up comic, Jo-Jo the Jester, escapes from his Atlanta nest looking for sanctuary. With a psychotic vampire in the wings, and a plague knocking off the country’s head vamps, Cesca must unravel the mystery even it kills her. Again.

Ask an Author Week #8: Nancy Haddock

Question: If you could meet any mythological or legendary creature/person, who would they be and why?

Nancy Haddock: Does the Highlander as portrayed by Adrian Paul count? (Exuse me while I fan myself.) I'd like to meet a dragon. I have a fascination for many mythological creatures, but I've yet to know a dragon. Trolls you can keep.

Nancy Haddock: Jane Austin, without a doubt. I'd love her work, and am fascinated by what I know of her life. I'd love to have known her!

Nancy Haddock: I haven't found the time to write Regencies, and I haven't found the desire to write something very dark. Or I haven't let myself go dark.

Ask An Author Week #5: Nancy Haddock

Question: What is your favorite Season to write in and why?

Nancy Haddock:  Great question! I think it's easiest for me to write in the winter - after football season. I love football, plus there are overall fewer distractions at that time of year! But any season inspires me.

Question: If you could meet anyone of your characters in person, who would it be and why?

Nancy Haddock: I'd like to meet and hang out with Cesca because she's a hoot, but I love big cats, so it would be a gas to meet Pandora.

Ask An Author Week #2: Nancy Haddock:

Question: If you could travel back in time for a month long vacation, which Era would you visit and why?

Nancy Haddock: Regency England, but I'd have to be accepted in the Upper Ten Thousand. Or at least be of the landed gentry - and not of the penniless persuasion. I've always loved the UK - England, Scotland, Wales (and Ireland, too) - and am mad about the Regnecy period. Why? Past life connections? Truthfully, I only know I have a tremendous pull to that general time period!

Ask An Author Week #1: Nancy Haddock

Question: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three books with which to read for five years, which three books would you take and why?

Nancy Haddock: I wouldn't survive 5 years with 3 books. No way. However, if push came to shove, my choices might be any of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files novels, THE MOON-SPINNERS by Mary Stewart, and ...YIKES. Don't make me go with only 3 books, pleeeease!!! (Unless you put some very hunky and interesting hunk of the island with me!)
