Ask an Author Week #10: Jacquie Rogers

Question: What is the "coolest" or most interesting thing that has happened to you since becoming a published author?

Jacquie Rogers: I’m in awe because my current release, Down Home Ever Lovin’ Mule Blues is getting outstanding reviews. So far it has two Top Picks, two Keepers, the TRS 5-heart Sweetheart, and all the rest of the reviews have been five stars, hearts, moons, or whatevers. It’s very humbling.

Ask an Author Week #7: Jacquie Rogers

Question: If you could meet any author in the world (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Jacquie Rogers: Mary Renault. She wrote amazing novels based on Greek mythology and a few based on Alexander the Great. I love her books, and she was an amazing, intelligent woman.

Ask An Author Week #5: Jacquie Rogers

Question: What is your favorite Season to write in and why?

Jacquie Rogers: Autumn. For some reason, once the days become shorter and the temperature is crisper, I want to write stories.

Ask an Author Week #4: Jacquie Rogers

Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Jacquie Rogers: French Polynesia sounds good. It’s warm, it’s tropical. No snow. I’m really tired of snow.

Ask An Author Week #3: Jacquie Rogers:

Question: If you could meet anyone of your characters in person, who would it be and why?

Jacquie Rogers: I love them all! And are you including only human characters? From Faery Special Romances, I thought Caedmon was intriguing. His story is Much Ado About Faeries. Caedmon is a faery man of the Sun Clan and is Chief of Portal Police. He’s macho and he has no time for courting. The faery queen insists he woo the woman chosen for him, but all he wants to do is hit something. Thankfully, the goblins invaded so he could work off a little steam.

Ask An Author Week #2: Jacquie Rogers

Question: If you could travel back in time for a month long vacation, which Era would you visit and why?

Jacquie Rogers: If I were a man, I’d like to travel back in time and be a member of Alexander the Great’s army. Why would his men follow him to the end of the earth? What made him such a great leader? I’ve read many books about him but none of the speculation about his character makes sense. But I’m not a man, so I’ll choose early Picts. I don’t know much about them, only enough to be intrigued.

Ask An Author Week #1: Jacquie Rogers

Question: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three books with which to read for five years, which three books would you take and why?

Jacquie Rogers: OED Unabridged: I’d never run out of words and I could learn a lot, but I’d have to have a magnifying glass to read it.  Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Whatever I’d be in the mood for, Will has something for me—romance, tragedy, humor, sonnets—it’s all there in one volume. Fire and Rain by Kathleen Eagle—my first and favorite romance novel.
