Ask an Author Week #10: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: What is the "coolest" or most interesting thing that has happened to you since becoming a published author?

EElizabeth Sinclair: I have to say the day I met a little old lady in the book section of Walmart, and she recognized my name and began rattling off the titles in my backlist of Harlequin/Silhouette books. It was the very first time I was recognized by my name and not the title of one of my books. Then she had me autograph her electric bill so she could prove to her reading buddies that she'd really met me.

I’ve written over a dozen novels for Harlequin/Silhouette, Kensington, and Medallion Press. My husband and I live in St. Augustine, FL with our two “furry children” -- Ripley, a collie, and Lily, a Golden Retriever. Current releases – Angel Unaware and Burning Secrets. Upcoming release – Garden of the Moon 12/10.

Ask an Author Week #9: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: What is your favorite "guilty" pleasure and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: Pogo. When writer's block strikes or my brain is fried from a day of writing, I just love playing Mahjong Safari. It's mindless fun, and I can get sucked into it for hours.

Ask an Author Week #8: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: If you could meet any mythological or legendary creature/person, who would they be and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: I think Emanuel from my Mist books -- Miracle in the Mist and Into the Mist. Having written both of these books, I still really don't have any idea who he is, and I'd like to ask him--not that I think he'd give me an answer. After all, in two books, he never commanded his own point of view.

Ask an Author Week #7: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: If you could meet any author in the world (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: David Baldacci -- I would love to talk to him about a novel he wrote that is such a departure from his crime novels -- WISH YOU WELL. I always felt that it's such a heartwarming story that it had to have its roots in something that affected his life profoundly.

Ask an Author Week #6: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: What genre (if any) have you always dreamed of writing but haven't found the time and/or inspiration to write?

Elizabeth Sinclair: Had I been asked this a few years ago, I would have said paranormal romance. But now, I have the privilege of writing in the two genres that interest me most -- paranormal romance and romantic suspense, and occasionally I get to mix the two together.

Ask An Author Week #5: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: What is your favorite Season to write in and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair:Spring. I'm a fresh air freak. Summers in Florida are too hot to do much outside and winters (we live in north Florida) can get too chilly. Spring is perfect to take my laptop out on my deck to write or open the windows in my office to allow the breeze to blow in.

Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: Ireland. It's my heritage and the myths and legends of this country are things of good books. Who can resist fairies, leprechauns and banshees?

Question: If you could meet anyone of your characters in person, who would it be and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: Rachael Sutherland from BAPTISM IN FIRE. She's strong when the circumstances call for it, yet vulnerable and sensitive.

Ask An Author Week #2: Elizabeth Sinclair

Question: If you could travel back in time for a month long vacation, which Era would you visit and why?

Elizabeth Sinclair: The Antebellum South, pre-Civil War. I've always been fascinated by this time period, especially with the Creoles of New Orleans and homes in the surrounding parishes. To me, this time period is the personification of romance.

Question: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three books with which to read for five years, which three books would you take and why?

Upon A Mystic Tide -- Vicki Hinze
On Mystic Lake -- Kristin Hannah
Magic Hour --Kristin Hannah
